I photographed the bride’s brother’s wedding, so being asked back for hers was the biggest compliment.
The day started at the Lakeside Suite and church was Ceremony at St. Mary Catholic Church
in Woodstock, reception at Lake Geneva before everyone headed to Bull Valley Golf Club.
A little rain came through, but it never changed the day. I always tell my couples not to stress about the weather. We can make almost anything work, and sometimes I’ll ask you to step outside and lean into it.
Some of my favorite photographs from this wedding are the ones with their families. The mariachi band played during the dances instead of traditional music, which made the entire moment feel even more personal.
These dances are never only about the couple. They are about the people who raised them, loved them, and are now watching them begin a life of their own.
I wish every couple could see their wedding day through my eyes. The timelines, weather, and tiny details eventually fade into the background. What remains are the people and how it all felt.
Be present. Hug your people. Have fun with your friends.
